Welcome to Herts Tai Chi

At Herts Tai Chi we cover a wide range of modalities. Tai Chi, Chi Gung, Meditation and two person practice, Push Hands and Da Lu, with students of all ages and abilities.

Learn Tai Chi on an individual basis, in groups or in a corporate or team building setting.

Good quality teaching allows you to obtain a foundation in the basics of Tai Chi.

The more experienced student will then progress to learn and understand subtle aspects of the energy work of Tai Chi.

Beginners practise both static and moving Chi Gung. Moving Chi Gung develops the pleasurable sensitivity that comes from soft relaxed movements while standing Chi Gung builds internal strength giving your body and your Tai Chi practice more power.

Tai Chi Day

Date to be announced

Amersham Community Centre, Drake Hall, Chiltern Avenue, Amersham HP6 5AH.

A full day of learning and practicing, easy to learn Yang style Tai Chi. Appropriate for beginners or those that have been practising for years.

As well as developing your understanding of Tai Chi, the innate principles integrated into the day will help everyone address the number one modern day ‘occupation’ – stress.

Although Tai Chi is slow and gentle and doesn’t leave you breathless, it addresses the key components of stress — muscle tension, lack of strength, stiffness, body balance and life-style balance.

If you attend a weekly class it’s possible to transform your stressful state into a relaxed and energised state.

After a full days practice a state of “energised stillness” is possible.

The results of practicing Ta Chi can be profound. Clinical and medical tests carried out confirm it’s effectiveness in many different areas. Some are outlined below.

In general terms Tai Chi is one of the most comprehensive systems for relaxing mind and body.

With time powerful effects are noted with increased mental concentration, the ability to focus attention and clarity of mind.

Regular practice helps reduce high blood pressure and aids proper digestion.

Tests have shown that Tai Chi increases T-cells in the body’s immune system by 40% (this helps prevent sickness and ill-health)

Other noted effects are strengthening the nervous system, generating a balanced attitude and producing calmness and peace of mind.

All are welcome. Beginners, lapsed students and regular students.

Drinks and snacks will be provided.
